Introduction to the Educational Opportunity Program

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at Binghamton University is designed to provide students with intensive academic development and orientation to the university community. The program is mandatory for all freshman students admitted to the university through the EOP.

Program Details

The Binghamton Enrichment Program (BEP) is a key component of the EOP, offering academic classroom instruction to strengthen students' skills in writing, reading, mathematics, and communication. Students have the opportunity to complete eight college credits during the program.

Academic Support

Each student is assigned an academic advisor/counselor who coordinates individual advising sessions to assist with course registration and acclimation to the rigors of the university. The BEP is provided at no cost to the student.

Program Requirements

All freshman students admitted to the university through the EOP are required to participate in the Summer Program. Students are expected to complete the Summer Program successfully. The EOP provides financial support for each student to cover the cost of room, board, books, and transportation.

Summer Program Dates

The Summer Program takes place from Sunday, July 5th, 2026, to Saturday, August 1st, 2026. Students are required to move into the dorms on July 5th, 2026.

EOP Orientation and Parent Meeting

EOP students admitted to Binghamton University are required to attend a specific orientation session on either June 6, 2026, or June 13, 2026. This orientation is free of charge.

Pre-Orientation Requirements

Students must complete certain forms prior to attending orientation. Failure to complete these forms may delay registration for classes.
